Disc binding is an elegant binding method where the paper is punched with mushroom shaped holes that slot onto polished discs or rings. It was invented in the 1940s by Atoma in Belgium and although very popular there, is less well known in the UK. 

We opened our ETSY shop in 2018 to make disc bound notebooks and supplies more accessible here. At the time, it was the only UK-based shop specialising in disc bound products.

The disc-bound system combines the best aspects of spiral binding and ring binding. 

The flexible binding means you can easily add, remove and reposition the pages of your notebook to create your perfect set up. You can also add smaller pages, handy for lists and reminders. The discs look more attractive than spiral binding and allow the notebook to lay flat and fold right back on itself. 

It's easy to change the capacity and look of your notebook by swapping the discs out for a different size or style and the discs can be reused forever.

We love sourcing beautiful images and patterns for our notebook covers and hope they bring a smile to people's faces. Our printed cover designs feature our own original pictures and gorgeous designs by independent artists and photographers. We also enjoy making handmade covers from tactile materials like real cork and vintage wallpaper. Our tiny hand-made batches mean that each notebook is (almost) unique and we refresh our designs regularly. 

We avoid cheap generic imports and choose quality, sustainable materials made by UK-based suppliers wherever possible.
