Postage & Packaging

We really want your order to arrive safely.  Your order will arrive packaged as follows (see below for more details of each):
   *     OliClips only: Wrapped in reused plastic bubble wrap
1     Wrapped in a polypropylene sleeve (see why)
2     Protected with a stiff cardboard envelope
3     Addressed with a thermal printed shipping label
We use lightweight, sustainable packaging wherever possible. We source our packaging materials from UK suppliers and use Royal Mail for our deliveries (except for some large parcels and wholesale orders).
----------------------
1    Wrapped in a polypropylene sleeve to prevent water damage
Our watertight sleeves ensure your order reaches you in perfect condition.
They are also:
   >     Plastic! Yes, but we've given this a LOT of thought and feel polypropylene is currently the best watertight packaging option for us. Find out why here...
   >     Strong and reusable - please reuse them as much as you can before disposing of them.
Please recycle our packaging if local facilities are available. If not, feel free to return them to us and we'll happily recycle them for you via TerraCycle.

2    Packaged in a stiff cardboard envelope to protect it in the post
Our standard postage envelopes are:
   >     Certified as plastic-free
   >     Made from 100% recycled and recyclable post-consumer waste paperboard certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
   >     Printed with eco-friendly water-based inks
   >     Corrugated to reduce weight and delivery vehicle emissions
   >     Recyclable - Just dispose of with your paper recycling waste
   >     Biodegradable - Simply shred, soak and mix with soil and the envelope will biodegrade in 3 months (under the right conditions)

3    Labelled with your address, using a thermal printed label
We print labels individually to minimise paper waste and use thermal paper for ink-free printing. The labels themselves are not recyclable (just like most other printed packaging labels and receipts) but we feel this is offset by the benefits of saving paper and toner cartridges.
Thermal labels should ideally be removed before recycling the envelope.

*    OliClip Reused bubble wrap
Royal Mail requires magnetic products to be wrapped in padding for shipping (presumably so that they don't stick to the processing equipment).
At the moment, we are able to source all the bubble wrap we need from people in our local neighbourhood. Reusing unwanted bubble wrap makes more sense than purchasing new wrapping (even if it's sustainable). We source our bubble wrap via our local thrift group and make a monthly donation to the group's chosen charity.
If we ever need to buy padding then we will review the options available and select the most sustainable choice.
Please reuse the bubble wrap again if you can.
